WORK?!?!

Hello everyone! I know it has really been a long time but I just haven't had access to the internet. However things are going well. And I am slowly starting work. I am first of all going to painting a world map at the high school in my village. So many people here don't have maps and that makes geography difficult... no... I think it will be a great learning tool. The director and I chose a spot where the students would be able to study it. Here is a picture of the first step... It has to be a really smooth surface so we cemented the wall.

As my project progresses I will add more photos.

Okay there has also been a lot of questions about were a shower (take bucket baths) and go to the bathroom. The first photo is my shower (notice my bathroom supplies) and then my latrine.

It is really surprising sometimes when I think about how easy it was to adjust to using these as my bathroom.

Other things I am doing include: attempting to talk to women about family planning options... in moore... the conversation is really limited but I want to try. There is also a British NGO in my village that deals with long term family planning so I am looking forward to working with them.

I am also working on planting some trees near my CSPS and after that hopefully have them planted in other villages. It is a great tree that when the leaves are used properly contain loads of vitamins including vitamin c, calcium, vitamin a to name a few.

Also March 8th was national womens day here so here are some pics from that. Women MUST be celebrated how I have some ideas for next year! ha Sometimes i feel like i have so many ideas and they get lost.. ha

Lastly My cat is now a KILLER! The most recent deaths have included 2 mice and to large (when I say large I mean large... think the size of my fist) spiders.

  1. Miss Lindsay... "thank you for sharing your personal areas" -- I wondered how all this would look. It is amazing to me that we can adapt to what appears at first to be quite 'basic' -- but we do!

Good on your CAT!!! What a hunter -- I would be really frightened of such a big spider.

I will be so interested in see how your world map looks as you work on it and when it is completed!
    Love to you! Mom
