HOT... rainy...Muggy...

Family and friends,

Life is Hot. BUT the rain is slowly starting to come and people are heading out to their fields. Which reminds me... I will be cultivating too! I am going to be cultivating peanuts! We haven't yet started but I will be buying the seeds when I get back to village. I already have my work tools so I am just waiting to start work in the fields!

The picture is from the second polio campaigne we did. I has such a great experience with this particular family. They were so great. After we vaccinated their children they offered us some food. I spoke some moore and ate with my hands and they were just so happy and they said "fo lebga Moaga'! Which means I have become moosi (their ethnic group). It make me feel so happy so then of course I had to take a photo! The women were so excited and some of them changed to get ready for the photo. It was SO CUTE! And completely made my day.

Okay so it's hot and muggy and sometimes rainy BUT one of the greatest things about this time of season is that EGGS come bac
k. SO while in village you can get Pintarde eggs. However all eggs in village are fertilized... so sometimes you find little surprises inside... BUT not to worry these do not go to waiste... My cat who I have decided to rename (his name is now Zorro) gets to eat them!

Other news I have started exercising with a group of women who are teachers. We try to meet up at least three times a week. It is really fun and actually a lot of children watch us ... which honestly isn't my favorite but this way they can women working out... and perhaps feel more comfortable exercising or playing sports and not always sticking with the gender roles society places on young women.

IN RELIGIOUS NEWS:

I recently went to a wedding, which was a group wedding 5 couples. It was really nice. One couple had a westernized outfit white dress and back suit jacket and others had traditional clothes made in matching materials. Many of the couples were already married at the mayor's office but now had money to do a wedding in the church.

I also got to see baptisms, first communions and confirmations. I spend a lot of time with the family that runs the catholic church so here is a picture of the family. The girl works for the family and she received her first communion and the boy was confirmed. They are a great family and I spend a lot fo time with them.

Okay that is it for now! I hope everything is going well!
