Life can be stressful...

Hello family and friends!

So as many of you know I was on consolidation for about a week about a month ago but at the moment things are fairly calm and I haven't not personally seen anything... so I am safe not to worry. It was a stressfull week and process... but it feels so good to be back in village!

Other news..I made liquid soap with a woman in village and she is selling it in village... the business seems to be going really quite well and I am happy... SOAP is good and SO easy to make...

SIDE NOTE: These are two little boys that live next to me ... they are little trouble makers but I love them and they pay me visits from time to time and if they have a minor cut they come and tell me 'Mam nugu zabdame!' 'my hand hurts'LOVE THEM!

More work news I have been giving practice oral english exams to 3eme students... at the end of this school year they will be trying for the BEPC which will allow them to become functionaires/cival servants.. eg.. teachers... nurses etc... I have done 43 students so far and I think it went really well... sometimes kids are kids but generally they were all well behaved.

Okay so this picture is from the third Polio tour... we go around house to house and give the polio vaccine to children under the age of 5. HOWEVER, this house was the BEST... First they were so nice second they gave us food... I ate with my hands and spoke some moore so the women were so happy and said that I have become a MOOSI! I really made me feel good... I love this village. and these people.

Lastly it is really hot but rainy season is about a month away..... I can't wait it is way to hot... 120 degrees last week. YAY. not. Okay here is a picture of the inside of my house so you can see how it is progressing... love lz

WORK?!?!

Hello everyone! I know it has really been a long time but I just haven't had access to the internet. However things are going well. And I am slowly starting work. I am first of all going to painting a world map at the high school in my village. So many people here don't have maps and that makes geography difficult... no... I think it will be a great learning tool. The director and I chose a spot where the students would be able to study it. Here is a picture of the first step... It has to be a really smooth surface so we cemented the wall.

As my project progresses I will add more photos.

Okay there has also been a lot of questions about were a shower (take bucket baths) and go to the bathroom. The first photo is my shower (notice my bathroom supplies) and then my latrine.

It is really surprising sometimes when I think about how easy it was to adjust to using these as my bathroom.

Other things I am doing include: attempting to talk to women about family planning options... in moore... the conversation is really limited but I want to try. There is also a British NGO in my village that deals with long term family planning so I am looking forward to working with them.

I am also working on planting some trees near my CSPS and after that hopefully have them planted in other villages. It is a great tree that when the leaves are used properly contain loads of vitamins including vitamin c, calcium, vitamin a to name a few.

Also March 8th was national womens day here so here are some pics from that. Women MUST be celebrated how I have some ideas for next year! ha Sometimes i feel like i have so many ideas and they get lost.. ha

Lastly My cat is now a KILLER! The most recent deaths have included 2 mice and to large (when I say large I mean large... think the size of my fist) spiders.
